“Spellbound quickly became one of my favorite rooms to date. The room design and atmosphere was amazing. The storyline was of the best that I have experienced and flowed perfectly with some awesome transitions and unique puzzles. Puzzles weren’t unnecessarily complicated but expertly crafted and challenging enough to keep things interesting throughout. I hate to admit it, but the two of us finished the room 0:02 past the 60 minute mark; but we are already planning our return trip to avenge ourselves in the Zombie room! 🧟♂️”

“We loved this room! It's a great room, and it's cool that they have a wheelchair lift for the stairs so they're accessible. Love the hidden parts of the room, and the puzzles. Everything in this room flowed well and made sense, making it an easier room and a good room for beginners. It's cool because the theming was very well done, so you really feel immersed in the room while you're in it.”

“Great room. The theming was done very well, an exciting take on the classic FBI/CIA themed rooms. Great use of technology and exciting puzzles. Would definitely recommend especially for those trying out escape rooms for the first time.”

“We weren’t sure what to think about the competition style escape room, but we had so much fun “sabotaging” the other group! This is a really novel, unique set up and great for large groups if you’re open to splitting up :)”

“This is such a fun, unique room! It felt like being back in space camp, and the puzzles were all super unique and fun. We really liked the overall vibes and all the puzzles, they flow well so you aren't left at any dead ends which is great. The story for this room really makes it though, it has a really fun one.”

“Really fun ( easy) game. Excellent set design which was very on theme. We are experienced and had fun. Could be for newcomer without a problem. Several unique elements. Nice mix of tech and mechanical. I think more than 4 would get crowded. Would definitely recommend to others.”

“In the old days, games were based on putting players in some miserable situation that they wished to get out of. This game instead takes you on a proper adventure, at the end of which you wish you could stay longer. We were the 2 randoms in a group of 6, so we had to step back and share the fun a little. Since it's linear, it is possible to keep track of every step that occurs without missing anything. Good music, and subtle lighting direction. Helpful subtitles on the video.”

“What a fun room!!! Tons and tons of puzzles, and very youthful and fun. The puzzles themselves aren’t an overly tough, but there are a lot of them which means lots of action throughout the whole room. We played with 4 adults and one pre-teen and it was just right.”

“This room is unique in that you start split up, which adds an element of difficulty. If you're like us and have one team member who excels with word puzzles and one who excels with physical puzzles it might be a good idea to mention that so you don't end up in the cell that would better suit the other, but it's doable even if that does happen. We really liked how well things flowed together, and all of the puzzles made a ton of sense at the end which is the best kind of room. I appreciated the little nods built into the room, and we loved the mix of the puzzle styles, it played to both of our strengths really well.”

“What a fun room! Lots of tech and very immersive. Some really fun, immersive puzzles and rooms that are very unique. We made it through the room just fine with 3 adults. There were a few things that showed some wear and tear, but our game master was good at guiding us around that.”

“This is a dark room, but it's still really fun and there's a good story. We did get stumped a few times, but we also did it when we were exhausted already. That said, the room is great and there are a lot of great puzzles that flow together perfectly. The very end was broken, but the GM was there and paying attention so it didn't end up impacting us.”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
