“A really fun room. The relatively spare room design is perilously close to seeming mundane, but it actually ends up feeling uncanny and on-theme instead. On the easier side, but really fun nonlinear puzzles, a satisfying interface, and some little surprises make it a winner.”

“Awesome experience! I’d classify this less as an escape room and more of an immersive space experience, but that doesn’t detract from it being an awesome time! That being said, the puzzles themselves were pretty easy. This is one of the only rooms where I’d say having more people helps, as the fun of this room comes from the teamwork experience rather than solving difficult puzzles. I absolutely love when rooms have optional extra things for you to do, and this room had some bonus content to explore. Groups of 3-5 would be good, as there is actually something for everybody to do. My only gripe is that it’s a bit on the expensive side.”

“Loved working with the sisters to unravel their curse and just watch all the different interactions between your little friend and the cottage itself. Was one surprise after the other, we made sure everyone participated. I would say a group of 3 would be perfect for this room, but could be done with more or less.”

“The game was definitely scary. Puzzles weren’t too challenging, but the scare factor makes it so much harder. The staff and actors were AWESOME! Our experience was important to them and you could tell. We had a large group. It might have been a little easier with a slightly smaller group because running in a herd isn’t easy 😂. But, I wouldn’t recommend doing it with a really small group either. Super glad we got to do this room and I’m excited to try out their other rooms!”

“My group and I had a great time. It was a perfectly balanced horror escape room that had a great flow. This was a linear style puzzle flow but the immersion kept everyone engaged. Our game Master (Deepak) was amazing and one of the best that I have ever worked with. Overall, Escape Room Era was a great time and I am looking forward to trying their other rooms.”

“The Hex Room begins by splitting you up. One moment, you’re a group of friends; the next, you’re archetypes locked in separate rooms, cast into a low-budget horror flick where the killer is watching and you need to solve dual sets of puzzles to survive. You are the Jock, the Rebel, the Nerd, The Prom Queen, The Virgin. Each role comes with its own puzzles, its own narrative, its own locked room. Then there’s a detective, stranded in the middle trying to hold the strands together. You shout through walls. You pass clues. You trust each other without seeing each other. But The Hex Room isn’t just meta-fun, it’s flat out, have an amazing time fun! Like The Breakfast Club with bloodstains. Other rooms may offer more spectacle, or dazzle with more tech, intricate puzzles, and stronger narratives, but that’s not the point. The Hex Room is engineered for joy. And our team of five loved it.”

“Wow! The Hex Room was the most hyped, so my expectations for this room weren't as high. But boy was I wrong! I think I actually preferred this room. From the whacky, whimsical nature of the game, to the silly jokes and clown references, this room was a hit! Much of this was thanks for our game master, Will, who enhanced this room with his jokes and commentary. My absolute favorite part was shaming our friend after he did a certain something... No spoilers ;) After the game, he answered all of our endless questions, even about our friends in one of the other rooms. All of the staff here was incredibly welcoming and kind. Overall, this is the perfect escape room experience if you want to have a blast! The puzzles aren't quite as complex as some, but the non-linear nature of the room, along with the sheet amount of puzzles makes for a pretty good challenge! Thank you Cross Roads!”

“The Weeping Witch is small room that plays like a large one. Tucked into a tight space, it delivers more cinematic flair and narrative finesse than rooms four times its size. NOTES *The room is almost a contradiction, making its mark through spectacle AND subtlety. *Speaking of contradictions, despite the grandness of the room, it does play better with fewer people. Our team of five had at least one too many, and three would have ensured that everyone could be involved in every puzzle. *Puzzles are layered and elegant, and as they unlock and unfold the room comes alive and new ones appear. *The fear factor is calibrated with a few jump scares and tense moments. But even our most easily spooked teammate (who did scream, twice) walked away unfazed. *An early “protective ritual,” turns out to be a way for the in-game actor to track your movements when the lights go out, and probably did keep the actor from bumping into us. *The in-game hint system is totally in world and occasionally shakes its head when you’re on the wrong track.”

“What a fun room! 😁 Just really the right amount of scary -- a few jumpscares here and there but nothing too crazy. They utilized the lighting, sound effects, and set design so well to really create an immersive experience. The puzzles weren't too crazy hard either, but challenging enough for 2 people. Overall, very fun room. I love the theme! Christine and Jeremiah were amazing too! You can tell they put so much love, care, and passion in this room. Can't wait to come back for their upcoming escape room. 🤗”

“This escape room is fantastic! The atmosphere is insanely well done, and it’s about as scary as it can be with no live actor. There aren’t a ton of jumpscares, which I think works to this room’s advantage. You’ll be on edge the entire time, and when a jump does come, it will always be in a way you don’t expect! Our game guide was wonderful and helpful, and the hint system plays in so well that it doesn’t break the immersion at all! My one warning would be not to bring too many people, or you’ll probably finish really quickly. There were only two of us, and we still had a relatively easy time. I think this is a great room for beginners if you can handle the scares. Even though the puzzles weren’t overly complex, the atmosphere and storytelling in this room alone makes it well worth your time!”

“We had SO much fun in Prison Break! We couldn’t help but cell-abrate when we finally escaped. Lol. This escape room had a very unique way of starting off the game where we truly had to rely on our teamwork, communication, and listening skills due to the Bars In Between. The puzzles were more mechanical and lock-and-key than high tech, but with the high tech puzzles that were present, it did a great job at not taking away from the experience of “escaping” a prison break. Due to the physical space, I would recommend a team of 4-8 players in total. It’s just enough for the players to interact with the clues and with each other while also not overcrowding one another either. The set design was truly immaculate in Prison Break! We even needed a hint to know where to go next because the set design was so immersive, unique, and detailed. It’s one of those rooms where you feel that everything is bigger on the inside than the outside, and this escape room did not disappoint! If you’re ready for a fun Escape, you need to go play Prison Break with your group! Just remember, don’t take things too Prison-ally.”

“This was a fun experience. If you’ve done most of their rooms, you’ll notice some familiar and fun puzzle designs. The puzzles that required teamwork worked really well and stirred up the excitement when it was solved. The space is not that big so keep it at 4 players, which was perfect, or else some of you will feel left out.”

“There is so much in this room we had our typical group of 4 and we were on top of all the puzzles just there is a lot and we barely had enough time. It had a vibe of are you smarter than a 5th grader tv show. We would have been better if we had one more person in our group but we still got out. I recommend this room just make sure y’all talk a lot.”

Disneyland isn’t the only source of magic in Anaheim. As one of the premier destination cities of the west coast, this sprawling city offers a little something for everyone, including some of the very best escape rooms in the world. Built on imagination, Anaheim offers a collection of one-of-a-kind flavors, scenes, sights, and sounds. Seeking a beach vacation? Anaheim is a short distance to some of the most pristine in the US. Or is cultural enrichment more up your alley? The grand Bowers Museum contains over 100,000 pieces in the permanent collection. It’s no wonder the escape rooms in Anaheim are just as thrilling as its other attractions. Over a hundred escape rooms span the Anaheim area, with countless incredible reviews and challenges ready to stump and surprise the most seasoned escape artist. From daring heists to mystical fantasies, Anaheim has plenty of puzzles ready to be solved by creative minds.
Anaheim is a true escape room destination. Since the first escape rooms arrived in Orange County, America’s most magical city has embraced these immersive experiences. In fact, greater Anaheim is home to nearly 20 different escape room venues. Time Machine at Not Another Escape Room offers a creative take on the popular science fiction theme. The Mad Rapper at Scenario Escape Room is a fun game with some fresh ideas that can be enjoyed by all ages. The 13th Basement at The Exit Game Anaheim is a thoughtful game that can be great for slightly more experienced players. With nearly 100 escape games in the area, the possibilities are basically endless — you’ll find games with themes of horror, adventure, crime, espionage, and plenty you may not expect.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
There are plenty of awesome escape rooms to choose from in Anaheim. The goal of Morty is to make escape rooms more accessible for everyone to find and play.
