“This was my first ever escape room and Angela (owner) ran this room and she was amazing. Friendly and funny and really welcomed us. Totally enjoyed my first game, great theme to the room felt transported back in time. Ended up playing all 4 of their games. New room (Area 51 and half) on the way and can’t wait for it to open !!”

“What a beautiful, wonderful room. Very difficult for 2 even with the time extension (and we’re 100+ rooms). GM clued us a fair bit but it was needed to be fair. Still a fair bit to do by the time our clock ran out. Great theme, clever puzzles - just so much to do !”

“Genuinely love all of the rooms at The Escaporium so had high expectations of this one and it didn’t fail to deliver. Quirky theming with some really great ideas. Being a team of 2, it felt like we were in a real race against the clock at some points as the clues and puzzles keep on coming but we did manage to escape with a few minutes to spare. Highly recommended.”

“Would definitely recommend this to anyone. This was one of the best rooms we have played, and we’ve played a lot. The theming was fantastic and really well done throughout with some really nice set pieces and tech in there that we hadn’t seen before. Host/owner was very friendly and we will definitely be back to play the second room once it’s opened up”

“Best jump scare room we’ve had. Fantastic immersion and really well done. Puzzles are great and logical and linear - the best bit is the setting and the way the whole room moves along each element. Very much worth a go!”

“We have done all the rooms at Escapeable and were delighted to hear they were opening up a new room and knew in advance it wasn’t going to disappoint given the excellence of all the others they have designed! Marv was so much fun and is certainly within our Top 5 alongside The Great Loudini and Outatime! Marv was enjoyable and had lots of elements to it that are different to other escape rooms we have played. There is also a collector element to the game which was a fun addition! Incredible set design and fun storyline that kept me and my husband hooked! I can honestly say Escapable keep excelling and I look forward to what they have planned in the future. The owner Tom is fantastic and our GM - Hannah who ran Marv was also really energetic and set the scene to the room perfectly. Marv is certainly a 10/10 and would highly recommend to anyone!”

“Came with my teenage boys and husband especially from Scotland for this Back to the Future room. Well worth the 4 hour journey down! Brought us right back into the 80's with fond memories of our favourite film. The decor, puzzles, just everything. My husband's favourite all time room (mine is the Great Loudini!)”

“Wow! Hands down the best escape room we have ever played. Which at 75+ rooms done - we don’t say lightly. I didn’t know what to expect going in - and as we like to play as a 2 I was a little apprehensive about the magic element being so up close without the ability to hide in a larger group. If you’re reading this review thinking the same please don’t hesitate to book this escape room experience. It’s absolutely mega. I’m almost a bit upset that we’ll never do a room like this again! Thank you so much! 🙌🪄”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
