“A good escape room doesn’t necessarily have to be innovative to be great. Infirmary is a fun, unpretentious game that takes a simple yet effective approach to game design. Set in a beautifully grotesque hospital, the set is carefully designed and a joy to inhabit. The puzzles solve cleanly and play well, minus an otherwise brilliant puzzle crammed into an awkward location. Infirmary takes the classic escape room formula and elevates it with unique moments.”

“Theming and everything was great! Had an awesome time with a group of 4. Unfortunately the teammates we choose were not escape room people and just wanted to brute force their way out (not super helpful. Oh and nothing was damaged!) I would say 2 people who are super in tune with each other could escape!”

“Such a marvelous experience for kids and children who never grew up! Seriously, it’s a well-designed set that flies players throughout Neverland. The story will be familiar to fans of the classic story and of course, the popular Disney movie. Don’t be hoodwinked into thinking this is an easy room. The puzzles are a little tricky, though some of it can be attributed to unclear logic or hard-to-see visuals. Other than that, there are a variety of fun challenges and magical moments for every inner child to enjoy. This entire company is worth going to! It’s easy to get to, just follow the leader and take the second star to the right. Fly, don’t walk to this hidden gem!”

“Cool and unique game!! We were told to do a lot of other rooms to practice to build up to this room because it was so hard. It was tough, but nowhere near as hard as it was made out to be lol. Lots of fun though!”

“This room was super sweet and chock full of fun! It’s a nonlinear game with great flow, logical puzzles, and exciting moments. The world is colorful, and what I bet kids think candy factories are like. It’s not too hard, and younger escapists will likely love it. It’s worth stepping into this world of pure imagination!”

“I was nervous I wouldn’t like this one because it isn’t a typical escape room, but I had so much fun. You’re still racing to do things quickly to try and get a high score. Lots of fun and different puzzles. Any group bigger than 6 you might just be overcrowded though. Having the interactive live actor was so much fun! Chris was our game master and he was witty and hilarious. I would definitely recommend this room!”

“Such a cool room! The owners build and program everything themselves. The room is beautifully made and the special effects are awesome! Puzzles are unique. And it’s cool that you can choose your difficulty level so it works for all experience levels. Can’t wait until the new rooms open!”

“This room is very thoughtfully assembled with clear puzzles and it progresses cleanly through the experience. It is very clearly homegrown, with plenty of locks and laminated clue cards that are showing a bit of wear and tear, but it is also well stocked with special effects and smartly integrated items.”

“I really enjoyed this room! First off I appreciated the design and aesthetic of room. I also like how the room flowed overall. We had 7 people and we were all busy the entire time. There was a good range of difficulty of puzzles. Some of the puzzles were on the easier side but there are a couple tougher ones that took a little bit of time. I also liked that this room is 90 minutes.”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
